A combination of tablet and laptop computer is known as hybrid laptop or also called as "detachable" or "2-in-1" laptop. It is having a removable screen which when separated turns the device into tablet e.g. on removing the screen from a Windows 8 made hybrid, it turns into a Windows 8 based tablet. Similarly, many tablets are developed with keyboards attached to the removable screen cover. Although technically they might be termed as tablets with keyboards, but are not hybrids.
These are devices which can serve both as laptop as well as tablet, either in a convertible fashion in which the hinge of the notebook rotates 360 degrees for a similar effect or as a separable design that makes the touch screen doubling as a tablet . In past, neither of them could be that much successful in providing experiences in equal measure, however, the trend is slowly changing.
These are good looking, powerful devices and serve multiple use cases to broad degrees of success. Due to their resemblance to ultrabooks in terms of thinness, lightness and quality of manufacturing, hybrid laptops are usually priced in the same range: between $899 and $2,000. With that, a few best 2-in-1 laptops that we've reviewed this year are Microsoft Surface Pro 3 by Microsoft, Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro and Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga by Lenovo and Acer Switch 10 by Acer venture.
